managed website updates & content for small business owners
Many business owners in Bristol and the South-West find themselves getting stuck when it comes to managed website updates: finding time to keep their website up-to-date, and following SEO best practice.
Hi, I'm Chris. I have 15+ years of website management, copywriting and SEO experience. Here's how I can help Bristol business owners keep their websites up-to-date.

Looking after your website
Most businesses – of any size – need a website. For over 20 years, websites have dominated as the primary marketing tool in any business owner’s arsenal.
What a website says about you and your business is really important. How it looks, how it feels, whether the messaging and user journey is good, and whether it looks good on mobile: get any of these wrong and you could be leaving money on the table.
Many businesses pay a huge amount of money to a web development agency to build an all-singing, all-dancing website, but then struggle to keep on top of managing its content. Sound familiar?!
Or, the business owner is left trying to keep the content management system updated and get the website ranking for relevant search terms by future customers through content for search engine optimisation.
I’m lucky to have been a content editor or manager on large-scale websites since 2009. I’ve worked on content management systems including Drupal, Wordpress, Craft, Typo3 – and more – and I know the ins and outs of those systems and how to produce compelling web content.
Struggling to produce website content? You're not alone.
The good news? You can easily outsource content production and edits for your website to someone who will understand your business.
One of my favourite things to do for clients is look after their website for them. I'm a hands-on website editor who has been producing web-ready content for both large- and small-scale websites since 2009.
Handling your managed website updates in Bristol and beyond is something I can help you with - and you'll find that by taking this off your plate as a business owner, you'll free up time to do what you do best: run your business.

Website and branding: frequently asked questions
Which content management systems can you use?
Having worked on websites since 2009, I'm familiar with Drupal, Typo3, Craft, Wordpress, Squarespace and Wix. The principles tend to be very similar across all CMS's, so if yours isn't on the list, I can still get acquainted with it really quickly.
Do the hours in my package roll over if they're not used?
Yes they do, for a maximum of six months. I'll keep you informed of how many hours you have left, and if it looks like they're not being used, I'll suggest work that we can use them for - specifically this is likely to be for SEO content such as blogs or local service pages.
How long will you take to make edits to my website?
I pride myself on a quick turnaround, so if you email me in the morning, then depending on the edits you need, I'll get them done for you by close of play that day, or for larger edits, the following day.
Can you source images for me?
Yes: especially if you use a Wix or Squarespace website, free stock images are available to drop into your web content. I'm happy to find these for you, and edit them so they fit properly into your content. If you have more advanced image needs, it may be that we need to set you up with a stock image account (iStock or Adobe Stock), or I can suggest pay as you go stock images for you to purchase to accompany your content.
How do I get you into my website so you can make updates?
I'll need my own login to your website so that I can start to edit and publish your content. You can either create a new user for me in your admin panel, or send me your own login so that I can create my own.
How do I send you the updates I need?
There are a couple of easy ways to do this. You can either send me an email with a list of everything you need amending; or you can copy the content into a Microsoft Word document, and mark up the text with your changes (under the 'review' tab).
